Answers
Q: Can I sign up with other casting agents?
  A: Yes
Q: Do I have to pay to sign up with IN-Casting?
A: No you don’t. Our service is free. We charge our clients and make you money!
Q: Can INC recommend a professional photographer?
A: Yes, contact us for a list.
Q: I’ve done some amateur theater can I sign up with INC?
A: Yes. However, your profile will have a non-professional status. We are a casting agency for professionals. However if you are serious about becoming a professional actor keep us informed about any performances you have or feel free to ask our advice on where to get the training. Our doors are always open to upcoming actors!
Q: I’m still a student in a theater/film acting school can I sign up with INC?
A: Once again, yes, although we prefer to deal with professionals only. However, students with any professional experience can send us their CVs with references from qualified teachers/professionals.
Q: My mother tongue is Dutch but I speak other languages without an accent, can I sign up?
A: If you speak any other language like a native then it will be possible to sign up. However, we will need at least 2 examples of voice-overs or you reading text before you can be approved.
Q: My father’s tongue is long, can I sign up?
A: Generally paternal influences are not taken into account.
Q: Does INC also cast models?
A: Yes, we do. In principle we cast actors and performers. However, there are some circumstances where models are required.
Q: What does a Casting Agency Do?
A: The purpose of a casting agency is bring together talent and production companies. To facilitate this, casting agencies develop a database containing files of individuals with a very wide range of talents, physical characteristics, features, and skills.
When a director or producer is interested in casting parts for an upcoming production, they can easily browse the files already collected by the casting agency instead of initiating their own time consuming recruitment efforts.
Q: What is a VAR?
A: Verklaring arbeidsrelatie - Declaration of working relationship
Q: How do I get a VAR?
A: You can apply for a VAR with the form ‘Request for a Declaration of Working Relationship’. This form can be downloaded from the Tax Department website or by calling the Tax Line: 0800-0543. The Tax Line is open from 8 AM until 8 PM Monday until Thursday and on Friday from 8AM until 5 PM.

Q: I work for more that one client and do various jobs for each one. Do I have to ask for a VAR for each job and client?
A: You don’t have to ask a VAR for each client.
You ask for a VAR for a specific type of work. If you do that specific work for more than one client under the same circumstances then you only have to ask for the VAR once.
Q: How long does it take to get a VAR from the Tax office?
A: You will receive the VAR within 8 weeks. Under certain circumstances this can be extended by 5 weeks. If that is the case you will receive written notification. Sometimes the Tax office will ask you to supply more information.
Q: Who should get a VAR?
A: The VAR is meant for freelancers who accept one-off assignments and one-person companies without personnel who make agreements about work that they will do for various clients. The VAR is not intended for contracted employees.
The VAR clarifies, for income tax purposes, the working relationship between a freelancer and their client.
In some cases it is difficult to assess whether the freelancer’s client should withhold income taxes and premiums. The VAR gives clarity if it states that the income is business profit or that the risks and responsibilities fall under a partnership.
